The mathematician John Nash was killed in a car crash in May 2015. His work on Game Theory earned him the 1994 Nobel Prize in economics, recognising an outstanding contribution which began with his slender 32-page doctoral thesis on the subject, when he was just 21.
His life was documented in the 2001 film a 鈥楤eautiful Mind鈥�, starring Russell Crowe. On the night the film came out, Oxford University Professor Peyton Young was having dinner with Nash and his wife, Nancy. Professor Young recalls Nash鈥檚 reaction.
