主播大秀 Mobile Radio Service for Nigeria

Is the new mobile radio service for Nigerian listeners a practical tool or an expensive extravagance? And, listeners react to the continued silencing of 主播大秀 Kinyarwanda.

A recently launched mobile radio service for Nigerians allows listeners to listen live to the 主播大秀 World Service and 主播大秀 Hausa on their mobile phones. For many residents who do not have access to internet resources, it is a welcome innovation. But for others, it is too expensive. Steve Martin, the 主播大秀 World Service regional business development manager who helped to introduce the service, speaks to university student Mustapha Saeed and discusses whether the costs may deter some listeners.

The 主播大秀 Kinyarwanda radio station continues to be silenced after the Rwandan government disputed the assertions of a 主播大秀 television documentary on the 1994 genocide. Members of its audience lament the service which was they saw as a vital source of reliable news broadcasting. Plus, listeners in South Africa praise how a recent episode of The Conversation shed light on the blossoming arts and culture of their country.
