Restrictions in North Korea

Did government supervision of 主播大秀 journalists in North Korea place restrictions on the coverage? And listeners welcome what they see as an underrated musical genre to the network.

Journalists from the 主播大秀 World Service were recently invited to witness and report on the 70th anniversary celebrations of the North Korea鈥檚 Workers鈥� Party. However, reporters were only allowed to source stories under the heavy supervision of North Korean authorities. Listeners from around the world question how constraints such as these may restrict and hinder the coverage of the reclusive state. Jo Floto 鈥� the Asian Bureau Chief 鈥� explains the values of this coverage beyond the unique circumstances.

And after last week鈥檚 announcement of three new music programmes on the network 鈥� the global audience share their appreciation for what in their eyes is an underrated genre of music.
