Conservative and UKIP MEPs clash over EU reform talks

Conservative MEP Timothy Kirkhope and UKIP MEP Tim Aker clashed over David Cameron's attempts to renegotiate Britain's membership of the EU.

Speaking on Politics Europe, Mr Kirkhope said there was "a lot of work to do" but the prime minister had "made a lot of progress", particularly on issues of freedom of movement and ever-closer union.

But Mr Aker, whose party supports Britain鈥檚 exit from the EU, said Mr Cameron was not achieving much. "There is no change. It's just shadow boxing," he said.

However, they were both agreed that "the sooner the better" for the date of the referendum.
