The German Finance Minister, Wolfgang Schauble, has warned that the UK will not be able to access the single European market if it votes to leave the European Union this month. Mr Schauble claimed the British would not secure special trading arrangements like those of non-EU members Norway or Switzerland. Supporters of the "Out" campaign had suggested that their model could be used to allow the UK to tie its economy closely into European trading structures. The Vote Leave group has said it would be perverse of the Eurozone to try to create artificial barriers in the event of Brexit.
