Vaughan Centre, Spaces on Buses & Bikes for Refugees

Start your day with the latest news and updates, with Jim and Jo at breakfast.

Pressure is growing on the University of Leicester this morning over plans to close its adult education centre. More than 1,200 people have signed a petition against the closure of the Vaughan Centre for Lifelong Learning.

Who has the legal right to a space on a bus - a mum with a sleeping baby in a buggy or a wheelchair user? That's the crux of a case being heard by the Supreme Court later.

Have you got an old bike at the back of your shed that you haven't ridden for ages? Well, there may be a much better use for it! We're being asked to have a look around and consider giving our unwanted bikes to a local charity which can then pass them on to refugees who're settling into life in Leicester.
