Troy Redfern grew up in the Welsh borders in the shadow of Hergest Ridge, made famous by Mike Oldfield, and began playing guitar at the age of twelve after watching Back to the Future with it's infamous over-the-top Johnny B Goode scene.

As Troy's playing developed he began exploring open tunings and was soon turned on to the slide guitar of Son House and Hound Dog Taylor, as well as the works of Zappa and Beefheart and their alumni. He spent much of his musical formative years playing, writing and performing with Ten Years After's Joe Gooch, both being from the small border town of Kington in Herefordshire.

In 2008, Troy put together his own studio and began exploring production, writing everything from straight ahead blues, to avant garde and progressive roots.

Early in 2013, Troy decided to put together a band under his own name to play these newly written songs. The logical choice when recruiting a bass player was Killing Floor's Stuart McDonald as Stuart and Troy had played together in various projects over the years, and had a great musical connection rooted in the heart of the blues. Stuart has a long history with the blues having played bass for the blues legend Freddy King on his first UK tour, as well as supporting Muddy Waters. Stuart also played bass in Paul Rodgers' post-Free band, Peace, and the infamous London blues outfit, Salt.

Drum duties were given to Alex Bridge. Originally from the Welsh borders, Alex was now living in Oxfordshire and studying with world renowned drum teacher Bob Armstrong (a legend within the UK drum community having taught many of the UK's finest drummers). A fantastic swing drummer, Alex's dedication to feel, expression and detail underpin the trio's performance and delivery.

The Troy Redfern Band began playing live in late 2013, and quickly gained accolades from the likes of world class producers Jim Eliot (Ellie Goulding, Paul Oakenfold) and Charlie Francis (REM, Gravel Tones) after playing at the prestigious Hay Festival. The band's sound and dynamic coalesced over the following year, with the band landing some fantastic shows, supporting The Nimmo Brothers, Skinny Molly and Bad Company's Mick Ralphs Blues Band.

Nozstock: The Hidden Valley

Nozstock: The Hidden Valley

The Nozstock Festival has kicked off and in 18 years it's grown from a family barbecue to three days of music, theatre and cinema for 5,000 people.

This year, the headliners are Jurassic 5, Imelda May and Gentleman's Dub Club and last year De la Soul and Martha Reeves donned their wellies to play on the farm near Bromyard.

The festival is now a full time job for the family with the converted cowsheds, bull pen and orchard all turned into live performance stages.

The 主播大秀 Introducing stage at the Latitude Festival

主播大秀 Introducing teamed up with Radio 2 and Radio 3 last week to host a stage at Latitude Festival in Suffolk.

The music varied from classical, world, jazz, country and folk.

All of the acts who performed uploaded to and were selected by the Introducing shows across the UK, including this one, as well as by 主播大秀 presenters and music industry experts.

主播大秀 Introducing at the Wychwood Festival
For the last few years, we've been taking over one of the main stages at the Wychwood Festival, on Cheltenham Racecourse, showcasing some of the very best acts from across Herefordshire & Worcestershire.

It's a relationship that began with the seven counties that surround Gloucesteshire all putting forward their favourite acts - a competition, it seems, that we have won!

Once again, we encountered blistering heat as the sun shone down on the Prestbury Hills and welcomed five acts, to the stage, who we'll be broadcasting through July and early August.

Traders in Upton-upon-Severn are counting their takings after another hugely successful Blues Festival.

It's thought some 20,000 people came to the town to watch some of the 130 gigs they had planned.

Last year, the event brought an extra 拢800,000 to the local economy. 3,500 campers took to Fish Meadow over the weekend - that's 1,000 more than live in the town!

What an incredible career it's been for Ellie Goulding - and to think it all began here in Kington!

Back then she was performing at the open mic nights at Doodies on St Owen's Street in Hereford, which is no longer there, and having some of those early CDs played on 主播大秀 Hereford & Worcester.

Fast forward a decade - and she's now a household name across the globe, with many of her lesser heard singles in Britain flying high in the US Billboard charts.

Tonight - we bring you a couple of tracks from the global phenomenon as she plays Glastonbury.

Glastonbury: Years and Years

They topped the 主播大秀 Music Sound of 2015 list and now Years & Years have just played their second Glastonbury Festival.

Lead singer Olly Alexander studied Performing Arts at Hereford College Of Arts and became the band's lead singer after meeting at a house party and was overheard singing in the shower!

He then went on to support last year's 主播大秀 Music Sound Of winner Sam Smith.
