The technology giant Samsung Electronics has issued a recall of all Galaxy Note 7 smartphones equipped with batteries it believes are prone to catching fire. The South Korean company has also stopped selling the devices in 10 markets, which will derail the revival of its mobile business. Samsung is showcasing its Galaxy Note 7 at the high profile IFA Consumer Electronics Fair in Berlin and our correspondent at the event tells us that the news from Seoul is a setback for the world's biggest maker of smartphones.

Samsung's problem with its unsafe battery technology is also a blow to South Korea, because the fortunes of the country's economy are tied to industrial giants like the conglomerate. We get a report from our team in Seoul about the challenges the economy faces, notably how the falling birth rate in South Korea is a problem for the future.
