Population:7, from Worcester, started off as a seven piece - although sometimes they're an eight or nine-piece band.

Initially, they were just a bedroom recording project and have recently finished a full album in just two days.

They describe themselves as a UK hip-hop neo-soul band with ambient blissful vibes performed 100% live.

"What an incredible live performance. Fun, energetic and have the crowd enjoying themselves as much as the band!" - Andrew Marston

British Blues Awards

British Blues Awards

A Malvern band have picked up a top accolade after being awarded Instrumentalist Of The Year for the fourth year running and Best Harmonica Player.

Trevor Steger and Becky Tate, of the group BabaJack, were given the title at the British Blues Awards, which also saw the Upton Blues Festival being crowned Festival Of The Year.

The band have celebrated the success by announcing, this weekend, that they'll be doing a full tour of the UK and Germany in October and November.

Record deal

A school band from Worcestershire have been given a record deal by the same person who discovered U2, Madness and Bob Marley.

'90s tribute group H90 were formed at Hagley Catholic High School.

Teacher Fred Mallinson helped put the 16 person band together and it just so happened that Dave Robinson, the man behind Stiff Records, was in the audience!

主播大秀 Introducing at Lakefest

主播大秀 Introducing at Lakefest

This month's sessions come from Lakefest, which took place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park, near Ledbury.

Primal Scream, Newton Faulkner and The Coral headlined the event, which relocated from Croft Farm Waterpark, near Evesham, after outgrowing its former site.

The festival has now been running for five years and 主播大秀 Introducing in Hereford & Worcester returned to the home of the former Big Chill to showcase three days of local music in the blazing sunshine.

Live in Hyde Park

Live in Hyde Park

British singer-songwriter Andreya Triana grew up in London, but it was a move away from friends and her old life to Worcester at the age of 14 that cemented her relationship with music, as the teenage Triana immersed herself in the work of Lauryn Hill, Bill Withers and the Jackson 5.

Since those days, she has made two albums of her own, sung on top 10 single 'Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)' and been nominated for a MOBO award.

In 2009 she performed on the 主播大秀 Introducing stage at Glastonbury, returning to play again at the festival in 2015.

The second half of 2016 will bring new music, more live appearances and - of course - a performance at Radio 2's Festival in a Day.

Monthly roadshows

Monthly roadshows
If you run a venue or you鈥檙e a music promoter, then we want to hear from you!

Since the beginning of 2011, we've taken our 主播大秀 Introducing show out on-the-road to various areas across our patch to bring people a flavour of the local music scene.

Every month, we rock up at a different venue with a pile of microphones, cables and recording equipment along with several vans full of enthusiastic musicians!

As well as the bands being able to invite an audience, we also bring along a number of music industry professionals to comment on the live acts.

We tend to host our sessions on evenings/weekends is because it's normally a quiet time for venues - so effectively you get a free gig curated with the best bands (from the thousands who have submitted their music to us), full tech provided, plus听听- so effectively you just need to open your doors!
