Walking football to get FA rule book

The Football Association is working a standard set of rules for walking football - after a huge rise in popularity of the sport. It was only invented back in 2011 an there are now more than 800 clubs playing the sport in the UK.

Nick Roberts helps to run sessions in Greater Manchester and said: 鈥淭here is discrepancy in what is and isn鈥檛 allowed, for example the head height rule. The basic rules of no running and minimal physical contact hare normally applied.鈥

Walking football has grown in popularity, starting in 2011 as a low-impact alternative, there are now 800 clubs playing the sport.

Dave Dwyer plays the game: 鈥淚t鈥檚 always spelled out in our sessions how we should be doing it, so we don鈥檛 endanger ourselves. It makes sure we are doing the activity, but doing it safely.
