James Payton is a 21-year-old singer/songwriter, from Redditch, whose lifelong passion has been music.

He taught himself how to play the clarinet, piano, guitar, bass and drums and after enjoying a stint in the navy, is now working as a sound engineer in broadcasting.

He's influenced by Ed Sheeran and Passenger and hopes to make similar sounding music.

"A pin-drop performance with great lyrics and a soulful melody" - Andrew Marston.

Modern-day slavery

Modern-day slavery

A Herefordshire singer is hoping a single she's written will make more people realise how big the problem of modern slavery is.

April Shipton, from Ross-on-Wye, and her friend Amy Box, from Bristol, have already raised more than 拢500 for the charity.

The song is called 'Thirteen' - the average age of a sex-trafficking victim in the UK.

Busking rules

Busking rules

Anyone wanting to busk in Worcester is facing a new set of rules.

The city council has just approved a new code of conduct for street musicians to follow in the city centre.

The aim of the new guide is to reduce complaints about buskers, as well as make it easier for them to perform.

The recommendations, which covers streets and squares, suggests buskers shouldn't book pitches in advance, should move on regularly and could be put before a panel if they face complaints about their performance.

Early 'Beatles' recording

Early 'Beatles' recording

It's a piece of music history - John, George and Paul's first recording together before they went on to form the Beatles.

The track is called 'In Spite Of All The Danger' and was recorded by the Quarrymen, whose members included John Lennon, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, in 1958.

For many years it was thought to have been lost, until it turned up again in the early 1980s and was then preserved, thanks to a special meeting, at Barclays Bank in Worcester City Centre.

After being passed around a few times it finally ended up in the hands of the band's pianist John Lowe, who sold it on to Paul McCartney. We'll have the full story of this hidden gem on this week's听show.

主播大秀 Introducing in Leominster

This month's sessions were recorded at the White Lion, in Leominster, which has been hosting a variety of events since being taken over by landlord Mervyn O'Mahony five years ago.

The bands he regularly puts on are similar to The Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol and The Stereophonics, and often come from all over the country to play.

He says: "It's good to see young people coming together and meeting people in pubs," which is what he aims to do with The White Lion.
