Computer equipment worth up to 拢30,000 has been stolen from a business near Cambridge, after intruders cut a 3ft (91cm) hole in the wall.

The burglary took place at the Mac Upgrades store on Babraham Road, Sawston, on Saturday.

The offenders cut through aluminium sheeting and breeze blocks to get in after initially attempting to break in through the roof.

Gavin Nicholson, owner of the shop, said the chances of getting the equipment back were "looking slim", despite the thieves being caught on CCTV.

"The hole wasn't big enough to take the bigger items that are kept in the shop," he said.

"It makes you feel dirty. Someone's broken into my shop and taken my stuff."

Mr Nicholson said the cost to repair the building would stretch to tens of thousands of pounds.

He said no customer data was compromised in the theft.

Police are investigating.
