Order imposed to stop car park cruisers

People living opposite a Cambridgeshire car park say it has taken authorities four years to address concerns about noise from modified car meetings.

Up to 100 vehicles gathered at the Riverside Car Park in St Neots during the latest event over the early May Bank Holiday.

Residents complained that revving engines and roaring exhausts caused disruption.

Huntingdonshire District Council says it is putting restrictions on the car park's use and new gates are being installed as part of a Public Spaces Protection Order, which comes into force this Bank Holiday Monday.

Police and crime commissioner Jason Ablewhite said he had "dealt with the issue accordingly".
