One of the largest solar farms in the UK has opened in Soham.

Stretching over seven fields and 70 acres, the project for Cambridgeshire County Council comprises 45,000 panels and will generate enough electricity to power more than 3,000 homes a year.

Costing near to 拢10m, the aim is to generate income for the council, too - a guaranteed 拢1m a year once the 15-year loan for the farm is paid off.
