James Graham essay: 'Hung parliaments are not fun'

The last time the UK had a hung parliament was in 1974 after the Conservative prime minister, Edward Heath called a snap election.

With no outright winner, the attempt to form a Conservative-Liberals coalition was a recipe for chaos and extreme stress, and doomed to failure.

The playwright James Graham wrote This House inspired by that time and we asked him to give us an idea of what might await us in the weeks and months and who knows, even years ahead?
