Local charity People In Motion are hosting their second-ever event called Under One Sky, featuring more than a dozen local bands, children鈥檚 crafts, face-painters, circus skills, arts, film, crafts, food and drink.
听
"The music, food, and activities all draw upon the positive idea that we are all one family, under the same sky. It really is important to show everyone how similar people are, even if they come from far-away places. If we can achieve this, then we can connect more to those who are in trouble, or need our support," explains Elaine, from People In Motion.听
听
The charity came about after a Malvern mother and daughter visited a refugee camp in France two years ago. Haunted by the conditions they witnessed, and determined to help the people they met, Elaine and Kirsty returned knowing they had to do more.听
听
Kirsty says: "Together our charity collects, sorts and transports aid across Europe and into Syria. We also volunteer in refugee camps, and support projects both in the UK and abroad that help displaced people."
听

Track of the Week: Rachel By The Stream

Rachel By The Stream regularly performed around Worcester before heading out for a life in the Australian sunshine.
听
Born in Bromsgrove, Rachel's first musical forays were in a band called Bint which attracted some record company interest: "Various suited men came to hear us play, ex-manager of Eric Clapton footed the bill for us to do some recording".
听
She spent a year studying abroad at a radical arts college in Portland, Oregon, that had been a hotseat for political activism in the '60s: "Very strange things went on there... live bug eating competitions, naked blue people, jazz classes, the college had its own nuclear reactor - no lie!".
听
She returned to the UK to visit family and play a few shows, so she popped in for a chat!
听
Tiny Tunes
听
This isn't just an ordinary playgroup - with soft toys for the kids and cakes for the mums - there's also a classical concert going on.
听
Every month, professional musicians come along to St Martin's Church to play their music to an audience of under-5's and their parents.
听
Run in partnership with the Elgar School of Music, Tiny Tunes has been rocking up to venues in Worcester, Kidderminster, Evesham, Pershore and Great Malvern on the 4th Monday of the month.
听
Head teacher Janine Parsons says: "The modern world is dominated by the visual, and the art of listening is important to ensure a balanced all round development for our children.听It particularly helps imagination to develop, which in turn fosters creativity and enables children to engage more effectively with academic material in later life.听The art of listening is a soul activity, an activity that takes place in our inner being and helps to nourish the emotional development of a child."
