Eurosceptic Conservative MPs have signed a letter warning that remaining in the single market for a transitional period would be an "historic mistake".

Responding to some critical reaction to the letter from other colleagues, Tory MP Charlie Elphicke told Daily Politics presenter Anushka Asthana: "It is not aimed at the government, it is aimed at the Labour Party who are hopelessly split on the whole issue of Brexit."
