Alice Cooper speaks to Elizabeth Alker

Alice Cooper is currently on tour in the UK with his original band. Alice, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce and Neal Smith reunited on stage in Nashville in May 2017 for the first time since the mid-70's.

"Alice Cooper" was the original name of the band as well as the name of the singer, known to his mum as Vincent Damon Furnier.

The band's current UK tour is the first time the original Alice Cooper band have played the UK together in 46 years the last time was their historic 1971 tour just a few years before they split in 1975.

They play Birmingham (14th Nov 17), then Manchester (15th) and London (16th).

It follows the release of Alice's recent and widely successful album, Paranormal, which includes two new songs written and recorded by the original line-up.

Their 1971 UK tour went down as one of the most headline grabbing shows of the era, Mary Whitehouse famously wanted the group banned. The costume changes, theatricality, guillotines and snakes shocked and appalled and fledgling artists at the time such as Elton John and a pre-Ziggy David Bowie were rumoured to have been in the audience, taking inspiration for their own future act.
