Has England seen a phonics revolution?

The coalition government introduced a requirement in 2010 schools to use phonics - where they learn individual sounds and then blend those sounds together - to teach children to read.

At prime minister's questions, Theresa May hailed the "phonics revolution" as the driver for dramatically increased reading standards in England.

Daily Politics presenter Jo Coburn heard reaction from Mark Lehain a former head teacher and now director of Parents and Teachers for Excellence, and Professor Sandra McNally from the London School of Economics.
