Liverpool fan: 'Ben Foster is a great goalkeeper'

Liverpool fan Mark says if Ben Foster would've been in the sticks for their FA Cup clash with West Bromwich Albion they'd have progressed to the fifth round of the competition.

Liverpool fan Mark has criticised Simon Mignolet's role in Liverpool's FA Cup fourth round defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and says that if they'd had opposite number Ben Foster in between the sticks they'd have progressed to the next round of the competition and not come out on the wrong end of a five-goal thriller at Anfield.

Speaking with Colin Murray and Ian Wright, the Reds fan said: 'If Ben Foster had’ve been in goal we’d have won that match, because Ben Foster is a great goalkeeper. Foster’s got an air about him, he’s got something about him that neither Mignolet or Karius have got.'

'There was a one-on-one with a West Brom player, Mignolet missed the ball and the ball went in. He shouldn’t be missing those balls, he shouldn’t be punching balls out when he can catch them. He should be dominating his defence and it's having an effect on van Dijk and Matip - both of whom I rate.

'Van Dijk’s got a £75m price tag on his shoulders, and he’s got a… I don’t want to say the word - but he’s got a bad goalkeeper behind him.'
