India justice minister: We work for all
The respect for each faith is part of India鈥檚 heritage, Ravi Shankar Prasad, the country鈥檚 law and justice minister has said.
Mr Prasad is a member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Hindu nationalist BJP government which has faced criticism for not seeking the votes of the country's Muslim population.
But Mr Prasad told Hardtalk's Stephen Sackur the government believed in "the development of all, with the co-operation of all".
The diversity of India could "not be determined in terms of any sectarian idea," he added.
