"Mad Max-meets-Prodigy"

"Mad Max-meets-Prodigy"
A band from Ombersley are playing on the Hollywood Strip tonight after being invited to perform by Johnny Depp!

Industrial techno group V2A, who are appearing at the Doomsday Ball, have also been given their own show on Netflix after headlining a number of Mad Max-themed festivals.

Worcestershire's Kevin Stewart and Ines Lehmann have just come back from a German tour (taking in Bochum, Hamberg, Flensburg, Berlin and Hannover) after their new album went straight in at #9 in the German charts.

But there's no stopping the duo; next Friday they'll be headlining the Wasteland Weekend in the Californian desert with stage appearances from the Mad Max cast.

Kevin Stewart, who goes under the stage name of 304 (Drone) says: "It's all about the party at the end of the world. If you imagine it's like the last day to go mad and have fun - we're that crazy band.

"We have fire-eaters, flame-throwers - it's sort of Mad Max-meets-Prodigy."

The band has also just finished writing the music to a new show on HBO and are being featured in Fractured Lands - a Mad Max-themed game.

Last year, the band appeared with David Hasselhoff and William Shatner at Comic Con in Manchester and this year have been invited to headline the San Diego Comic Con and Dragon Con in front of 150,000 people.

The band, who have up to 35 'war boys' on stage with them, tour with six trucks of equipment and have drummers in LA and Germany.

Formed around the powerhouse vocals of Bromyard's Neil Ivison and Worcester's Sarah Warren, Stone Mountain Sinners features former members of , The Sarah Warren Band, and The Delray Rockets.

Having received regular airplay across the UK, Europe and the USA, Neil was described by the Sunday Mercury as 鈥渃ut from the same cloth as Paul Rodgers鈥 while Sarah鈥檚 Janice Joplin-style vocal delivery has seen her winning fans across Europe, where she has toured extensively.

With songs about friends, drinking, brushes with the law, love, broken relationships, fights and jobs, their latest album was recorded at Rockfield Studios - the same place that brought us Queen, Coldplay, Oasis and the Manic Street Preachers.

"I walked my boss down the corridors of the 主播大秀, sat him in front of a computer, played him Stone Mountain Sinners and he gave me a Sunday show!" - Andrew Marston.

Peace at the Reading Festival

Peace at the Reading Festival
They started off life as November & The Criminal before landing a deal with Columbia in 2012.

Tonight, we catch up with the Worcester band Peace who - for the last two years - have been on an independent record label.

The group, who had their first airplay on 主播大秀 Hereford & Worcester and festival gig with us at Nozstock, were the surprise guest at this year鈥檚 Reading & Leeds.

We鈥檒l hear highlights from their set, including Harry鈥檚 chat to Huw Stephens on his brand new Radio 1 Sunday show.

Alan McGee: Creation Records

Alan McGee: Creation Records
This week, we conclude our series with one of Hay-on-Wye's most prolific hit-makers.

Alan McGee was the founding father of Creation Records, responsible for signing bands such as Oasis, Primal Scream, My Bloody Valentine and The Libertines.

Alan was also behind a club night which saw appearances from The Killers, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Kasabian and The Darkness.

He's just launched a brand new record label called Creation23.

主播大秀 Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

主播大秀 Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival
This annual festival was first staged in 2008 by Chris Bennion, who produces Worcestershire Sauce, who set up a website called NotJustSauce - aiming to put Worcester on the map musically.

Taking place in multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, river cruisers, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.

Each year the festival raises money for a chosen local charity. This year the Worcestershire Association of Carers will receive all the money dropped into buckets at the festival's venues across the weekend.

Highlights: Biggefest

Highlights: Biggefest
More than 20 bands performed in front of crowds of 800 at Biggefest, which took place near Redditch, last weekend.

Dedicated fundraisers Clive and Sandra Fokes first held the event in their back garden nine years ago, but have now relocated the gig to the New Tardebigge Pub in Hewell Lane.

Having raised thousands for charities, including Primrose Hospice and Midlands Air Ambulance, the couple are hoping to help Macmillan Cancer Support to their 拢1 million milestone in Worcestershire.
