Patricia Bonham

Patricia Bonham
Last weekend would have been John Bonham's 70th birthday - and to celebrate, the people of Redditch put on a huge gig in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Rolling Stone magazine ranked him number 1 in their list of the 100 Greatest Drummers of All Time - and the gig, last Saturday, saw fans and friends from all over the world join together to remember the Led Zeppelin drummer, who died in 1980.

Our reporter Nina Das Gupta has been finding out about the man behind the music from his widow Patricia and good friend David Hadley.

Award-winning music venue could be expanding to Hereford

Award-winning music venue could be expanding to Hereford
A Worcestershire music venue has been named among the best in the country after appearing in the Good Beer Guide for the first time.

The Swan, in Stourport, was a hotel until 2007 and reopened eight years later as a pub.

Matt Worley and Maria Plant, who run the venue, have recently bought a second venue in the town - and are currently in talks about opening a music venue in Hereford.

On Monday at the Swan, the Frothblowers Brewery hosted a Meet The Brewer event - which has close connections to ELO and Wizzard!

主播大秀 Music Day

主播大秀 Music Day
Special events have taken place across TV, radio and online for 主播大秀 Music Day, celebrating the power music has to change lives.

Around a-thousand schools formed choirs to take part in the Get Singing initiative. Jarvis Cocker took part in a special edition of Bargain Hunt while Kylie Minogue recorded messages to be played at major railway stations.

主播大秀 Music Day鈥檚 Platform to Perform saw 40 choirs singing to commuters across the UK, including the Hereford Rail Choir performing during the evening rush hour.

Mitch Loveridge is a 26-year-old singer/songwriter from Redditch who听specialises听in acoustic pop.

He's been performing locally for more than a decade, but earlier this year we reported on his rags-to-riches story after releasing his own album following months of sleeping rough on the town's streets.

Mitch had been living in the town's bandstand - but has turned his life around and has been doing a lot of work for various charities, from homelessness to mental health.

Aside from his musical forays, Mitch is an avid gamer, loves performing magic tricks and adores his family and pets!

"One of - if not - THE most inspirational musicians we've ever had on stage with truly incredible music and stories behind the songs" - Andrew Marston.

主播大秀 Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

主播大秀 Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival
This annual festival was first staged in 2008 by Chris Bennion, who produces Worcestershire Sauce, who set up a website called NotJustSauce - aiming to put Worcester on the map musically.

Taking place in multiple venues across the city, from pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes to historic buildings, river cruisers, record shops, on the streets and even in breweries, the festival is absolutely free to attend with hundreds of gigs to choose from from some of the best, new and emerging artists in the UK.

Each year the festival raises money for a chosen local charity. This year the Worcestershire Association of Carers will receive all the money dropped into buckets at the festival's venues across the weekend.
