Lottery winner

Lottery winner
This week, we catch up with Worcestershire's luckiest band - after winning 拢125,000 in the postcode lottery.

Mark Roelink, of the Secret Cabaret, was among 419 players in the DY10 1 postcode sharing the 拢3m prize money.

The band have had an incredible summer, too, playing at festivals across our area.

Country music charts

Country music charts
They were in session for us just three weeks ago - and this week Bromyard and Worcester band Stone Mountain Sinners hit #5 in the iTunes Country Chart.

And to celebrate, they officially launched their Rockfield-recorded Tones Of 主播大秀 at the Imperial Tavern in Worcester on Friday night.

Formed around the powerhouse vocals of Bromyard's Neil Ivison and Worcester's Sarah Warren, Stone Mountain Sinners features former members of听, The Sarah Warren Band,听听and听The Delray Rockets.

Having received regular airplay across the UK, Europe and the USA, Neil was described by the Sunday Mercury as 鈥渃ut from the same cloth as Paul Rodgers鈥 while Sarah鈥檚 Janice Joplin-style vocal delivery has seen her winning fans across Europe, where she has toured extensively.

With songs about friends, drinking, brushes with the law, love, broken relationships, fights and jobs, their latest album was recorded at Rockfield Studios - the same place that brought us Queen, Coldplay, Oasis and the Manic Street Preachers.

"I walked my boss down the corridors of the 主播大秀, sat him in front of a computer, played him Stone Mountain Sinners and he gave me a Sunday show!" - Andrew Marston.

Bewdley Festival: Tony Kelsey (The Move)
We catch up with Tony Kelsey of The Move, who performed as a session musician at the Bewdley Festival on Friday!

Tony's been a long term fixture on the Midlands music scene and last toured with the band in 2014 and 2016.

He's lived in Worcestershire for the last decade and says the county has some of the best musicians in Britain.

'Royal' musician

'Royal' musician
In the week of the Royal Wedding, we thought it was high time to catch up with one of our 'Royal' musicians.

Remi Harris, who's from Bromyard, has played at Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall.

He's now living at The Hatch in Tenbury Wells where he's hosting regular gigs - and is bringing more and more jazz musicians to Herefordshire & Worcestershire to perform in our village halls.

24 hour gig

24 hour gig
We're hearing about a 24 hour gig which is taking place in Worcestershire this weekend.

The Playathon, which is taking place in Little Witley, between Worcester and Stourport, is raising money for MAGGS day centre for the homeless.

Last year, the organisers chose St Michael's Hospice, in Hereford, and raised more than 拢3,500 for them during the 24 hours.
