Performing for the Queen

Deborah Rose has also been running various songwriting sessions in schools, prisons and with dementia patients - including a workshop in Balmoral - where the Queen was in attendance.

Deborah has just returned from America having worked with Eva Cassidy's family developing some of her poetry into song - a move that led her to warming up for author Marianne Williamson, who's thinking about running for president.
听

Paul Farrer, who wrote the theme to the Weakest Link and Dancing On Ice (which returns on Sunday, 6 January), is also the musical director to Michael McIntyre's Unexpected Star and The Chase - which is currently being aired all over the world.

Switching on Worcester's Christmas Lights

Not only was this a fantastic opportunity for the musicians we selected (who didn鈥檛 even know they were being considered for this incredible gig), but also a chance for thousands of people to see the amazing talent we have right here on our doorstep.
听
As always, we also hope this will also inspire other musicians to share their music with us.
听
The event, this year, moved from the Guildhall to the newly-revamped Cathedral Square under the statue of Sir Edward Elgar.

11-year-old JJ, who goes to Hanley Castle High School, performed the concert on Friday night - but has also performed at Worcester Cathedral previously.

She says although her three sisters also sing, her ultimate aim is to become a pop star.

Kathryn Davis, the chief executive of Headway Worcestershire, was delighted to receive the cheque from Worcester Ukulele Club chairman Alan Corder - saying it will make the world of difference to sufferers and their families.
听
It's quickly becoming one of the most attended music workshops in the county and has grown to such an extent, they now take over the local library every Monday.
听
Beginning with just a handful of players, the group - which started in the backroom of a pub - now has around 100 members who meet at the Hive every week.
听
All well as being a community event, they play up to three gigs a day - from their repertoire of more than 130 songs - raising money, every year, for their chosen charity.
