This month's sessions come from Gordon Bennett's, in Hereford, which has been championing bands since being taken over by Robert Bennett in May 2016.

The venue has been hosting free music nights every Friday and Saturday, from 9pm, showcasing the best local talent.

Matt Owens: Noah & The Whale

This week, we hear from Matt Owens - the former frontman of Noah & The Whale - who's returning to Worcester to play a gig this week.

From the Royal Albert Hall to Glastonbury, Matt's played some incredible gigs - including several tours of America.

But this week, he returns 'home' to Worcester - where his family live - to promote his debut solo album at the Marr's Bar on Thursday.

Our next recording session will take place on Sunday, 27 January at Kidderminster College.

The venue, which has made a name for itself as being the national HQ of the government-funded MAS Records scheme, is supported by Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin), Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs) and Karl Hyde (Underworld).

We'll be bringing along handpicked musicians from Herefordshire and Worcestershire to record their live sessions for broadcast.
