Marc Maron: how did podcasts become mainstream?

The godfather of podcasting on interviewing a president in his garage.

There are a few moments when the podcast phenomenon really took off - and one of them is in 2009 when a comedian began interviewing people he knew in his garage. 鈥淲TF with Marc Maron鈥 has grown to be a podcast juggernaut - each month it鈥檚 downloaded 6 million times and it鈥檚 just celebrated its 1000th episode. Some of the most famous people in the world have talked to Marc - rockstars, A-List actors, and a former president of the United States. Marc Maron sat down with Beyond Today to talk about how podcasts made the jump from the underground to the mainstream, and what it鈥檚 like when Barack Obama comes to visit.
