Rory has a visible difference called a venous malformation birthmark which he has on his upper lip and right cheek. It grew bigger and bigger as he grew older as the nature of the birthmark is that it grows with you.

Rory knew he was different when he started primary school and other kids would point him out and ask what happened to him. People were cruel to Rory at secondary school because of his visible difference so he was very shy as a teenager and didn鈥檛 like to meet new people. When Rory posted on Facebook about his experience of having a visible difference, it was shared all over the world and it changed his life for the better!
