Iraq's hidden mines

Iraq has suffered from decades of war and terrorism.

The legacy of the fighting means it is littered with unexploded mines, bombs and munitions, more than any other country in the world.

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis are unable to return to their homes until the mines and bombs are cleared.

At the heart of the operation is a former soldier from Edinburgh, Frank Philips, who says it could be at least a decade until some areas are safe to live in again.

Cameron Buttle has been to Iraq for The Nine to see the scale of the challenge.
