This week, our live music comes from the musical brainchild of Bromsgrove artist Livi Morris.Ìý
Ìý
Runrummer started at the end of 2018 for the 25-year-old singer/songwriter and has since blossomed to recording her debut EP at the renowned Cafe Music Studio in East London, where she's now based.
Ìý
But it all began in her teens when she landed the opportunity to write topline vocals for dance giants Showtek and The Chainsmokers.
Ìý
She says her influences come from a mix of '80s electro-pop, the musical legends of Kate Bush and Bowie, alongside recent acts including Billie Eilish with her lyrics confronting struggles with sexuality, gender identity and mental health.
Ìý
Livi took the name of her project from the Birmingham Rum Runner nightclub that helped launch Duran Duran and Dexy Midnight Runners in the '70s & '80s - a venue regularly frequented by her dad!
Ìý
“One of the most cutting edge musicians I’ve discovered, in what could be gearing up to be session of the year" - Andrew Marston.
Ìý

Artist of the Week

Liar, Liar are a melodic-driven electro fourpiece that formed two years ago by twin brothers Thom and Benji Parry, from Evesham.
Ìý
Fast forward to now and, despite living in Bristol, they remain true to their roots, still performing in Herefordshire & Worcestershire, and now they're also joined by vocalists Romy and Rosie.
Ìý
They say their musical influences go from The Cure and Tears For Fears to Pale Waves and The 1975 and their motivation is "to escape the horrors of a minimum wage lifestyle through light electropop".

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing at the Worcester Music Festival

This month's sessions come from the Worcester Music Festival where we hosted a stage at Annie's Burger Shack.
Ìý
So far, the festival has raised more than £55,000 for local charities.
Ìý
Music was hosted in pubs, clubs, cafes, bars - you name it, the whole of Worcester was taken over with the sound of new music!
Ìý

Highlights: KEMPfest

Throughout this last month, we've brought you highlights from the first-ever KEMPfest which took place in Stourport.
Ìý
The event, which featured headliners Sweet Female Attitude, Max George of The Wanted and Fuzzbox, was raising money for the Kemp Hospice.
Ìý
Tonight, we round up our coverage with some of the local bands who graced the stage.

Musicians' Masterclass

This week, we're looking at the various ways to keep yourself inspired - and how to have longevity in the music business.
Ìý
Emma Smith is one of the presenters of Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio 3's Jazz Now. But, as well as that, she's also a singer, a composer and regularly works alongside the Ronnie Scott’s Allstars, Seal, Michael Buble and Goldie.
Ìý
She's joined by performer Tom McCredie and pianist/composer Nikki Yeoh.

Features

  • In the news:ÌýThe future of the Upton Jazz Festival is in question.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing in Bromyard

Our next recording session takes place at the Conquest Theatre in Bromyard on Sunday, 24 November from 7pm.
Ìý
If you've only ever driven through the town before, the Conquest is on what we like to call 'Nozstock Street!'.
Ìý
The theatre has now been hosting events at its Tenbury Road location for a quarter of a century - but they'd been campaigning for a facility like this since the '50s, according to the records book.
Ìý
Originally, events had been held in an 'old tin hut' which had been built in 1919 by the Royal British Legion.ÌýBut eventually they decided an all-singing, all-dancing venue was what the town needed.
Ìý
We'd love to see you on the 24th - simply turn up, there's no need to book.
