Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights have gone on across Herefordshire & Worcestershire, and we've been there pushing down the switch with Santa and a host of local musicians.
Ìý
Tonight, hear our coverage of the Malvern, Bromyard and Bromsgrove celebrations, as well as a catch-up with Cerys Matthews of Catatonia who did the honours in Hay-on-Wye.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing Live: Craig David

Craig David has sold more than two million singles and his streaming figures are well over 110 million in the last year alone.
Ìý
Making his debut with the critically acclaimed album 'Born To Do It', 18 years ago, he has successfully return to music, winning best male at the 2016 MOBOs and Best Collaboration (with Bastille) at the NME 2018 awards.
Ìý
He was amongst the star-studded line up at this year’s Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock in London – where he gave his advice for emerging artists.

Features

In session

"Pounding drums, driving bass and screeching guitar fit hand-in-hand with melodic mandolin, partial nudity and attitude filled lyrics" - that’s how Worcester band The Whipjacks describe themselves!
Ìý
When they hit the stage it's time to raise your drink and try not to spill it on your mates, which is easier said than done.
Ìý
They are a five-piece band that play their own brand of 'speed folk' - and you may have caught them at Nozstock, Mello and Lakefest.
Ìý
"A great fun-time band with wonderful tracks that will have you dancing on every surface!" - Andrew Marston
Ìý

Artist of the Week

This is not the first time The Gravity Drive have been our Artist of the Week on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Hereford & Worcester.
Ìý
Elijah and Ava Wolf (who's from Broadway near Evesham) played at last year’s Ö÷²¥´óÐã Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock in London.
Ìý
The husband and wife fronted band compose and sing original, harmony-driven alternative rock and pop tracks.
Ìý
Elsewhere on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã, they’ve had support from Tom Robinson, Dermot O'Leary and sessioned for Bob Harris.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Music Introducing in Bromyard

This month's sessions come from the Conquest Threatre in Bromyard.
Ìý
If you've only ever driven through the town before, the venue is on what we like to call 'Nozstock Street!'.
Ìý
The theatre has now been hosting events at its Tenbury Road location for a quarter of a century - but they'd been campaigning for a facility like this since the '50s, according to the records book.
Ìý
Originally, events had been held in an 'old tin hut' which had been built in 1919 by the Royal British Legion. But eventually they decided an all-singing, all-dancing venue was what the town needed.
