Bits and Pieces is a massive party anthem in Scotland. The tune is known across the generations and, in 2016, Scottish football fans voted the track to become the national team's official goal song. In recent years, Bits and Pieces has also soundtracked some huge cultural moments - at TRNSMT Scottish superstar Lewis Capaldi made his entrance to the song, and Calvin Harris dropped it at his final T in the Park appearance. However, given the track emerged in 1994 and was written by underground Dutch act Artemesia - aka producer Patrick Prins - it prompts the question of why does it continues to rise in popularity in Scotland 25 years on?

Clyde 1 Radio and GBX Anthems DJ George Bowie has a lot to answer for. Bowie's love for the song has been widely shared through his cover version and his passion for playing it on air and in clubs. To share the history of the tune鈥檚 humble beginnings as a bedroom recording from the Netherlands, and to chart its journey to becoming the soundtrack to so many lives in Scotland, TUNE meets George and Patrick to dive back to the halcyon days of the rave scene and get the whole story.
