Tiger Bay Brawlers arrive in Finland for the European Cup 2019. Last year they came third in Europe; can they top that moment, and send retiring captain Kid out on a high?

The Brawlers arrive in Helsinki, Finland for the 2019 European Continental Cup. But someone’s missing. Nitro Jen, the team’s experienced and powerful blocker has lost her passport, and is stuck in Cardiff.
As nerves build, the team prepares for their first game against Swedish giants Dock City. The sides have history. Last year, Tiger Bay beat Dock City to win the bronze medal. But this season, Dock City handed the Brawlers their worst ever defeat.
And the format of the European cup is as brutal as the sport. Win your first game, and you fly through to the semi-finals. Lose, and kiss goodbye to any hope of a medal.
Dock City repeatedly smash through the Brawler’s defence. Tiger Bay eventually find their form and fight back to narrow the gap but Dock City refuse to be caught.
With just one game played, Tiger Bay are out of medal contention. But with Kid set to retire, they resolve to send their captain out on a high.
Birmingham Central City Rollers, CCR are known for their strong defence and the Brawlers come out to face them all guns blazing. They pile on the points but Rogue and Kim both take big blows. CCR fight back to close the gap. But after half time, Tiger Bay are unstoppable.
The Brawlers have one final match – Kid’s last ever competitive game. After ten years at the top, it’s a huge moment. Roller derby is more than just a sport to Kid; it gave her a voice and empowered her to be herself.
Dublin score quickly but the Brawlers aren’t going down without a fight. The teams go into half-time almost level. Kid rallies the Brawlers with a final team talk. Knowing this is the last time they will all play together, can the Brawlers snatch victory?
