Missing peacock found at Hindu temple

Worshippers at a Hindu Temple, in Coventry, believe something very special has occurred after a peacock arrived at their premises during a 10-day Holy festival dedicated to their God Murugan.

The peacock is the national bird of India and is the chariot ridden by Hindu god Murugan, people in the community have told Ö÷²¥´óÐã CWR it's very special to them that the peacock arrived during the dedicated time of prayer.

It transpires the peacock is likely to be ‘Reggie’ a peacock known in the Collycroft area of Bedworth, in Warwickshire, who normally hangs around in local gardens and disappeared for several weeks.

There is a mystery as to how ‘Reggie’ travelled the five miles distance. But on seeing his old friends he recognised them and will be heading home to Bedworth.

Meanwhile the residents have started a fundraiser to help purchase a new peacock for the temple where a purpose built peacock run has been made.
