Nicotine pouches: ‘A wild west of regulation’

As nicotine pouches become more popular, there are growing concerns that they’re being marketed at young people.

They’ve been described by some people as the best way to stop smoking. Nicotine pouches have only been around for a few years, but many already said they’re the reason why they’ve been able to quit.

But there are growing concerns that there’s not enough regulation for the new product, which are, like all other nicotine products, addictive. The biggest nicotine pouch brands are owned by big tobacco companies, and there are accusations that they’re deliberately targeting their products at teenagers and young people, leading many to become addicted to their products.

For the latest episode of 5 Minutes On, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Correspondent Graham Satchell meets nicotine pouches and asks whether more regulation is needed.
