A car restoration business in Chelmsford have raised concerns that dust clouds left by transport trucks are affecting the health of their staff.

New Again Auto Reconditioning, on New Street near Chelmsford city centre, say they have been dealing with the remnants left by nearby Aggregate Industries for over a year.

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Essex's Sonia Watson spoke to James Dyas, who works at New Again Auto Reconditioning and Gary Wray who owns the company.

Aggregate Industries say:
"Our Chelmsford Rail Depot within the freight yard receives hundreds of thousands of tonnes of aggregates via rail every year.
This is then transported by lorry to a large range of customers and projects across the area such as ongoing developments at Beaulieu Park Station and the Beaulieu Housing Project.
We are aware of complaints about dust from a nearby business and have been working closely with Chelmsford City Council to help resolve any issues.
We have taken a number of proactive measures to help alleviate the problem.
These include installing a dust suppression system, a wheel wash for vehicles leaving the site, issued instructions to drivers to keep to 15 mph and deployed road sweepers on a daily basis.
We are also working with Network Rail to look at repairing an onsite concrete road."

The lorries are sheeted before they leave site."
And the company say they are "not aware of any similar reports" off ill health caused by the dust.

A statement from Chelmsford City Council:
"Chelmsford City Council is aware of New Again Auto Reconditioning Essex’s concerns over dust from Aggregate Industries.
Our officers have been in contact with Aggregate Industries and the company has agreed to work on measures to reduce dust.
This includes a wheel wash, which will be operational in the next couple of weeks, and proposals to tarmac to an unmade road at the site leading on to Brook Street."
