The family of a Leicestershire woman who died from a rare form of leukaemia on the day of her diagnosis has raised over 拢17,000 in her memory to support a leukaemia charity.

Liz Taylor, from Desford, Leicestershire, thought her ongoing fatigue was down to a hectic lifestyle. However, when her condition worsened she was admitted to hospital for tests. In July last year, the 51-year-old mother of two was told she had acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APML) and died the same day.

At the weekend Liz's family and friends held a Golf Day at Kilworth Springs to try and reach their 拢20,000 fundraising target to support the charity Leukaemia UK's work to accelerate progress in diagnosis, treatment and care.

Liz's husband Jonathan Taylor has been telling Summaya Mughal how they hope to raise even more money in Liz's memory.
