Going to space with your mum
University of Aberdeen student, Ana Mayers, was on board the first ever Virgin Galactic flight for tourists - and experienced the once-in-a-lifetime trip with her mum, Keisha.
Virgin Galactic鈥檚 commercial spaceflight, 鈥楪alactic 02鈥�, took University of Aberdeen student, Ana Mayers, and her mum, Keisha, to space. They won a place on the once-in-a-lifetime-trip in a competition, and in turn became the first mother-daughter duo to fly to space together.
The pair, along with 80-year-old former Olympian Jon Goodwin, took off from Spaceport America in New Mexico on the 10th of August. The flight lasted around 90 minutes, and they experienced zero gravity at an altitude of around 280,000ft, where they got a very special view of the planet.
