Robyn Weintraub is a leading crossword designer who writes clues and fills in cells for the New York Times, New Yorker, People Magazine and the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament.

It takes Robyn around three days to construct a puzzle, beginning with an empty square grid of 15 x 15.

"I will try out thousands of different combinations of words, to find one's that speak to me and that I think are fun" says Robyn.

After working out the word combinations she then sets about writing clues. Robyn says, "What makes a fabulous clue is one that has misdirection."

"People have told me my puzzles have a certain personality...happy and fun, I have this dorky mum vibe," she says.
