In the early hours of Sunday the 5th of August this year one twitter user created the hashtag #resignwatson and later the same day it was the most talked about topic in the global Twittersphere. But how could a hashtag about a politician little known outside the United Kingdom become such a hot topic? We look at the numbers behind the trends.
