The Cuban diaspora in Miami; live music, live comedy, and top creative talents discuss the city’s unique culture

Nikki Bedi is on stage in Miami to explore how the artistic exchange between Cuba and the Cuban diaspora in `The Magic City’, creates its unique cultural ambience.

There’s live performance from the hottest new sound out of Havana, the Afro-Cuban funk sensation, Cimafunk and from Miami’s Grammy nominated Princess of Son, Leslie Cartaya.

Internationally renowned artist Sandra Ramos and award winning writer Vanessa Garcia discuss the issues facing artists who move and work between Cuba and Miami, including censorship, spying and why some Cuban musicians are banned from performing in Miami?

Moving accounts of separation and longing for the Cuban homeland come from the Miami audience. Venezuelan stand-up comedian, Milton Granadillo, has a fresh take on the city’s Latin scene and in the Culture Cab tour of Miami’s special places, Vanessa Garcia reveals the importance of street art and gazing out to sea.
