Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg says sorry after big job losses at the tech giant.

The parent of Facebook and WhatsApp, Meta, announces 11,000 staff will lose their jobs in a major payroll cut.

The founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has said sorry after the tech giant laid off more than 11,000 staff 13% of its global workforce. Senior Tech Reporter Kali Hays from Business Insider in Los Angeles gives us her assessment of the move and what it means for the sector.

Voters in California have rejected a proposal from several big betting companies to allow online gambling in the state. The companies had pushed for a referendum on the issue but faced a backlash from over 50 Native American tribes, who rely on traditional casinos for their income. The tribes won the referendum.
