Holst’s suite The Planets is one of classical music’s most extraordinary acts of imagination. Student musicians from Helsinki and London unite to perform the work alongside Sibelius’s The Wood Nymph and a new piece from Finnish-American composer Lara Poe.

The Ö÷²¥´óÐã Symphony Orchestra present an all-British Prom, with Elgar’s ‘Cockaigne’ overture, Holst’s Hammersmith and Vaughan Williams’s A London Symphony featuring alongside a selection of Stanford’s songs performed by baritone Christopher Maltman

In Holst’s 150th-anniversary year, the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Symphony Orchestra and Chorus perform his masterpiece The Cloud Messenger. We also hear Elgar’s ever-popular Cello Concerto, with Senja Rummukainen as soloist, and Jonathan Harvey’s Tranquil Abiding

United on stage for the first time, British choral groups The King’s Singers and VOCES8 present a Prom that mingles pop classics with classical, showcasing their world-class close-harmony singing.
