Blake Morrison's memoir Things My Mother Never Told Me is this week's book of the week on Radio 4.

The book looks at the life of a young woman from Ireland who goes to university at 16 to study medicine. We then met the old Mrs Morrison, dying in an old people's home.
At her funeral her son realises that he has lost a woman he hardly knew. So he sets out to find her, primarily through a long wartime correspondence between the couple who would eventually marry and become his mother and father.
Blake Morrison joins Jenni to talk about the book.
