As the latest incarnation of Mary Poppins makes her appearance on the London stage, Woman's Hour explores the life of her creator, P L Travers

Travers'Ìýseries of children's books featuring the nanny with magical powers began in 1934 and ended in 1988 with Mary Poppins and the House Next Door.ÌýHer friend and fan, Brian Sibley collaborated with her on a screenplay sequel to Mary Poppins.ÌýÌýHe talks to Jenni about his memories of Pamela Lyndon Travers.ÌýJenni also talks to Travers' biographer, Valerie Lawson.
