This is historical fiction set during World War I.
On a visit to Amiens in 1910, Stephen Wraysford meets the love of his life, but unfortunately she's married. He remembers this lost love while in the trenches of World War One. Years later, his grand-daughter seeks to understand his terrible experiences of war.
