Fetlar in the Sun

Thought I'd better put some photos on the blog to show mjc what Fetlar looks like. There is a picture of the Ferry Terminal at Hamars Ness, the main road and the harbour at Houbie. All were taken about two weeks ago.
Ferry terminal

No sign of any black & white coliies escaping from pounds though. Mjc must have a fevered imagination.
The main road

But who is the Phantom Fetlar Blogger?

Fetlar looks very nice. I'll come over and see in person next time. Muchas gracias for the pictures. As to the Hound of Fetlar, I thought (erroneously) the Fetlar blogger just might be Herman Ess (accompanied by Orkney quadruped), but I was puzzled and not sure - for he would move to Unst, now, would he not? I hear Fetlar is very fertile: what do farmers grow? Commercial fishing?

Fetlar is called the garden of Shetland. Not actually sure what grows well there but it looks green.

Just googled Fetlar and discovered a website that gives you an interactive tour of the island & other parts of Shetland. Its very good. The address is www.kalliness.shetland.co.uk/isles/fetlar/fetlar_map.html

Interesting website. The Primary School (through sixth grade/11 plus?) looks in good shape: how many students? Air strip: who lands? What lands (private Pipers and Cessnas?) there - does Loganair? Roads look in excellent shape: do people bike a lot or are the winds too fierce? The Kirk - Presbyterian or is it "non denominational"?

Not a tree in sight, but it does look green.
