Treacherous Orchestra

A testostrone fuelled, high octane, premier league cocktail of tunes and grooves. An ongoing project which began in 2006 whose line-up reads like a noahs arc of those that have passed through the Glasgow music scene - the musicians went in two-by-two: Ross Ainslie & Ali Hutton (pipes & whistles) - Bo Jingham & Kevin O'Neill (flutes & whistles) - Adam Sutherland & Innes Watson (fiddles) - Eamonn Coyne & John Somerville (instruments from hell; banjo & accordion) - Michael Bryan & Spad Reid (guitars) - Paul Jennings & Fraser Stone (grooves - drums & percussion) - Duncan Lyall & his double bass.

Agh!! They are too good. I have done some stuff with John (Box) and Mike (Guitar)-GREAT Guys- and seen all these players live but in any many different set ups but this is like a dream set up. Been following their stuff for ages unfortunately I aint been able to see them live yet (I think I might go mad) Bring on Belladrum!

Saw them twice at Celtic Connections, they wrapped up the Festival Club on Sunday night, brilliant, well worth the trip from Tipperary, when are they coming to Ireland?

Sounds like part of Nantucket Sleighride by Mountain to me. Nice though

Pete, it's called Easter Island and it's written by Ross Ainslie (the tall piper)

I'm in complete agreement with Michele, I also had the pleasure of seeing them at New year in Ullapool, and epic is the phrase I would use.I read today's review in the Herald, which was factually inaccurate in places and short sighted!Basically I think they are an amazingly tight band who are made up of some of the finest folk musicians of their generation. Success can't be far away! And Michele, I'll see you at the next Gig!

I saw Trecherous at New Year in Ullapool and then travelled down to Glasgow specially to see the boys play again at the ABC, it was fantastic, the lighting was beautifully done, and the boys were on top form. Hope they are at Cambridge this year.
