At 2pm, schools across the country recorded or published a radio, TV or online news bulletin which became accessible on the school's website from 4pm.

Lauren

Today we have been doing School Report. We wrote stories about what was happening in the news. I wrote about the budget, pregnant mothers stopping smoking, and a kicked to death Goth. I worked on these stories with my friend Rebecca. We then recorded the story into a bulletin.

Calum

Hello, my name is Calum and I've been doing School Report. This morning we were put into groups looking into the following types of news: local news, national news, international news, sports news and weather.

We each had to find articles in our chosen subject to write stories about. Then we wrote them and practiced reading them out. We then recorded the stories in our recording studios. The bulletins will be put onto our school website.

Jade

Today we have been doing School Report. When I was recording the news I was very nervous because I was scared about messing up, and I was embarrassed a bit. I messed up about three times because I was very scared. After I did it I felt ok, I did enjoy the day but I felt a little nervous.

Today I have been looking through articles and taking ideas so that I can make a radio story up of my own. I worked with my friend Lauren to write some stories. We will be broadcasting our story over the radio and interviewing people so we can see what it is like to be a journalist.
