Tiffany Murray is currently the senior lecturer in creative and professional writing at the University of Glamorgan. Both of her novels have been shortlisted for the UK's only literary prize for comic fiction. (Image © Fritz Fryer)

Tiffany Murray is a graduate of New York University, and the University of East Anglia's M.A. and PhD fiction programmes. She is currently the senior lecturer in creative writing at the University of Glamorgan, and has previously taught at UEA, Bath and Manchester Universities.

Her first novel Happy Accidents was published in 2005 and was shortlisted for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction.

In 2010 she published her second novel Diamond Star Halo. This brought Murray her second nod for the Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize. She will contest the prize against authors Ian McEwan, David Nicholls, Paul Murray and Malcolm Pryce. The winner is due to be announced at the Hay Festival in May.

Murray grew up in Monmouthshire and Powys and now lives in the Welsh Marches.
